I was excited to hear that Leighton Read (entrepreneur many times over and also VC at Alloy Ventures) has written a book called Total Engagement: Using Games and Virtual Worlds to Change the Way People Work and Businesses Compete.
I had earlier met Leighton in the context of Seriosity, a company he founded to help companies overcome information overload.
While Seriosity never caught on in its original form, its apparently going through some really great changes, and is an important company in its own right because it challenges some of our fundamental assumptions regarding what constitutes work, and how games can be used in the enterprise.
I'm excited that Leighton (and Byron ) have codified their thinking in this important new book. I've just ordered it and am looking forward to checking it out. You can find it here.
